logotype ideas
four (12 points) | Wed, 2008-05-14 20:53hi im trying to design a logo and i have a hard time grasping what is typically associated with a design/webdesign company im going to have the company text in plain helvetica but i need an icon aswell anyone with some ideas i want the icon to be associated to the color red since the name will be just that but that is just not enough
Um, what you're asking for is for someone to teach you graphic design. Probably not going to happen on this forum since we're all graphic designers already.

Why don't you give a few logo's a try, upload, and listen to the comments you get back. Just play around and, most importantly, have fun with the design process.

Go take a Graphic Design course and let a professional teach you the ropes. but seeing as you've been to school for programming already, you might want to just hire a Graphic Designer, a concept that's been around for quite some time now.

You have to understand we get posters here from time to time asking for the same thing, "please design my logo for me; for free". So please don't be surprised at this reaction.
What normally works better is if you post a sample image (can contain more than one version of the logo) in the 'critique' section and then we can have a look at it. We won't ever design something for you. That's what you would hire a designer to do.

for the record i do get the point about the free thing so can we leave it now or does everyone wanna throw a rock
you whining like a little girl is just going to egg some of us on. You have two options now: A) Walk away from this forum and never come back cause we've obviously "offended" you. or B) Do what Nato said, show us some of your concepts and we'll guide you through the whole process.
In all honesty option two will help you out more and we will all be able to move on.

You still haven't asked a specific question nor have you posted an example of the work you are trying to do. Any advice we'd offer at this point would be too general to be of any help to you. Please stop whining and get moving; show us some stuff.
