London street signs font
digilee (221 pencils) | Tue, 2005-07-12 08:30Guys,
I am frantically trying to find out what font is used on London street signs.
i have tried Gill Sans and Johnson, (the underground font), plus others but nothing is correct.
Does anyone know what and where i can buy it?
I have googled, of course, and searched around on fonts.com etc but nothing!
If you don't know what it looks like, here is a sample:

Just to let you know that after an exhustive test on identifont, they came up with FF Govan One. Still not correct but very similar.

It looks like Univers Bold Condensed, or something very close to it.
I spoke to a font builder earlier and he generally said that the actual typeface is not around but the nearest is trade gothic.
It's the nearest that I can find anyway.

Mate, try Grotesque Extra Condensed. Looks almost like it, I think.

Well I got down to using Trade Gothic. The only differences are G, S and E. Seeing as I won't be using those 3 in the logo, it works!
Thanks anyway guys.
