Looking for designers.
coolbluelogo (6 points) | Fri, 2009-07-10 16:46I am starting a new Promotional Product Ecommerce site. I currently work for another distributor and we often face challenges with customers not having high quality art. They often only have a jpeg or tif of their logo. Most of the promotional product vendors require vector art in ai or eps.
I am looking for a few artists that would be interested in some light freelance work tracing and redrawing some logos. This would be spot work and pry pretty cheap, but I thought I would ask.
If your interested check out the site CoolBlueLogo Promotional Products and shoot me an email at .

Serious?! Really?! Is this for real?! Oh my lucky stars, dreams really do come true!
You mean to tell me that you have work you don't want to do but you also don't want to pay anyone else a lot of money to do it?
Praise the good Lord above for bringing me such fortune! Somebody pinch me! I should have read my horoscope this morning. I could be more prepared for this rapturous happening that just occurred!
I'm so excited I'm all-a-tremble from my head to my pinky toes! Do not look a moment longer! You have found you're most loyal and obedient servant right here!
The only thing that could make this better if you asked me to work for free –– I dare not aspire to such happiness.
Without my sense of direction, I don't know where I'd be.
Thanks for the offer... I'm a little less jaded about these sort of things... but perhaps you might have better luck (and a lot less sarcasm thrown your way) if you checked out some of your local design colleges and sought help from students looking to do their internships.
Most of the people on this board are professional freelancers (or professional employees) who've been in the field a long time and their time will not come cheap.
Good luck. :)
"If your interested...". First of all it's YOU'RE not YOUR in this case.
Second, this crappy sentence and your lazy post will not get any takers here (I hope). If it's such important work to you, why would you not pay very much for it?
In a word: Spammer.

Leaky: I guess so.
KellyR: Thanks I will check some out. We have a local Art Institute, I will see what they can offer.
caoimghgin & natobasso: I didn't mean any offense. I am just a little worn out by posting light work and getting outrageous bids. If the work is simple and only takes 10-15 minutes, then it is what it is.
In a couple words: Flame on!

Depending on the quality of the supplied images and the result you are after, it may well be worth looking into something like this: http://vectormagic.com (or the features in Illustrator) to automate the process.
The problem you are likely going to face is that anyone who can do this task quickly either won't want to or will charge a fortune (as their time is very much in demand) and anyone junior enough not to charge a fortune for this will not likely be skilled enough to turn it around fast, or to a desired quality.
Automating the process looks like a good way to go.
You didn't offend. No worries there.
You don't have much concept of how long things take, as 15 minutes is just enough time to boot up Illustrator Photoshop and InDesign, and probably FontExplorer.
You won't get a good price by low balling designers. You won't get good work by low balling designers. Get real, and offer a fair price for fair work, and let US DESIGNERS tell you how long it's going to take.
Of course you have to find a good designer you trust, in your area. Don't go searching worldwide for a fair price; most of us don't know where you live or what's a fair price in your area.
To be honest, all of us here are worn out by clients who think that anything related to design work "just takes 15 minutes". Well, anything that looks good or is worth doing anyway.
