I think the series feature will be a hit. The TV tuner is really missing from the new iMac.

I love the new iPod. I think video is a great idea... only prob is internet connections have to catch up with the content!

I've been waiting for a service where I could legally download episodes of my favorite shows, e.g. The Daily Show, BSG, etc. This is a step in that direction.

One thing I'm looking forward to seeing is the HDTV version of this. The QVGA resolution will be enough for basic TV but for HDTV you'll want something better. h.264, which is supported on the vPod, is able to scale quite nicely that high, but Apple have yet to do much with it from a service point of view. What I'd like to see are HD episodes available (maybe a buck more expensive per episode) and then an option to choose between the QVGA and HDTV formats when you pay for them. HDTV support would require more horsepower (iMac vs vPod) and more bandwidth than QVGA so there will be multiple factors involved in the decision.

Anyone remember if the h.264 format allows for resizing like JPEG2000 whereby you can display a partial copy of a file when it hasn't downloaded fully (forget the technical term).

Well I was adding a 20" iMac to my office so this has just sealed the deal. The only downside is the omission of the modem as I'm still on dial-up for long periods. Have an old usb modem which should do instead.

Picked one of these up at the Paris Expo. It's a shuffle sized USB2 Digital TV receiver which is integrated with Eye TV. Comes with an option to use a mini aerial or plug into your main TV aerial. Works perfectly and means I can watch TV reltively smoothly on the Powerbook while recording at the touch of a button.

Greedy bastards.... Music Videos now costs money. The quality isn't impressive either. iTunes is probably getting more bloated than it should. They might have to separate the video functionality to a new app or change the name of iTunes to iMedia or whatever. I'm guessing that Front Row will be bundled with iLife.

I tried at work, at home, on XP, 2000, Running IE6 or Firefox 1.07 Each time I try to see the photo, video, DVD,... video of Front Row, the browser crashes... How should we let them know... Not good to get switchers!

EDIT: now that I b1tched, it works? well...

Just a comment... you might wanna take a closer look at the reflection you gave to the iMac in the background on this post's header image. Not only is the reflection different, but the reflection's perspective is off. ;-)
