iTunes backup

Want to backup your whole iTunes music library to CDs or DVDs? Here is an idiot proof way, to use Bryan's words from the macminute cafe:
- Go into the iTunes burning prefs.
- Change from audio cd to data cd.
- Drag your entire Library into an untitled playlist.
- Click burn.
- It will burn one disk at a time, asking for the next as you go.
I need two DVD's for this operation. If you can please confirm if this works on Windows as well.

It does work on the PC. Thanks for the tip!
Has anyone tested this on HUGE libraries, to see if there are any limits? I need to back up my music library, but I don't want to discover this craps out on the 15th DVD.
How much music do you have? lol well i'm in process of backing up my library.. i'm on 4th DVD and another 15GB to go... so far so good...
I have 55Gb in my music folder, that isn't really so much, I mean, it wouldn't even fill up a top-end iPod. I probably should go back and rerip some of my CDs at higher bitrates, or maybe even with Apple Lossless Compression, that would probably put me over 60Gb.
Now that's a hot tip. Very useful, thanks.
you lose your playlists and ratings if you do it that way.
id be interested in a more comprehensive method.
… is the place for things like that. I'd search for you, but I have to go out in a couple of minutes.
Does it write the files with or without DRM?
OOOH! I LOVE this tip - I have to do just that today because my ipod died yesterday and I'm waiting for my replacement. My itunes library is at work and I don't want to be without my music this weekend.
Any way of preserving the playlists? Does anyone know?
Thx, but I'm using a more simply method, just use a converter like this one.
