Mac OS X Get Info Window

When you select 10 files in the Finder and press Command-I to open the Get Info window, you don't get an summary window detailing the files as a whole, but rather 10 different Get Info windows. However, if you select 11 files, you get the summary window. If you want the summary window instead of 10 different windows regardless of the items selected, press down Control while opening the Get Info window (shortcut: Control-Command-I).

The Get Info window currently used in OS X was inherited from OS 9, but if you prefer to use the old-style Inspector window used in OS 10.1 and earlier, hold down Option while opening the Get Info window (shortcut: Option-Command-I).

You can use the keyboard customisation feature of the Keyboard & mouse pref pane to swap the 2 commands around - Show Inspector becomes Get Info, and vice versa !!

I never use the standard get Info window, and one of the function keys to open the Inspector.

Just thought someone might like to know,
