Mac Owners Are Just Like, Well, the Mac Guy

Research from internet ad network Mindset Media confirms the ad's personification of Mac users as superior and self-satisfied. Its recent Mac user "mind-set profile" -- a psychographic ranking system that scores respondents on 20 different elements of personality -- found them to be more assured of their superiority, less modest and more open than the general population.
Really?
I would not have known! lol

Ha! It's scary when tests like this are pretty much bang on.

It's been the mac market since the beginning. Even the ad campaign 'Think Different' appeals to the individual rather than the massess. :)

A huge chunk of Mac users are in the media industry. We have to be self assured or we get ganked in the field. ;)

I like that word.
That's my word for today!
Ganked. :)

I think their personification of a Mac is pretty spot-on. Well... not for ME... he'd have to change his sex, but I think I'm pretty laid-back and self-assured. ;)
An advert on this page just made my browser window tiny, popped up an alert box telling me my PC had malware on it, bounced me to http://performanceoptimizer.com/.landing/index.php?4656530f5817575d5142165e5a4166455a3a555b3d535d480a0a4246090d0d0f584d5e1458135d0b09170747560f0816415801055b105a555809 and proceeded to run a "scanning" animation.
The only reason I came back was to post this comment; you just got cut from my feed list.
NB: Inappropriate advertising, such as scareware, costs visitors. I won't be back. Show some common sense.
Being a Mac user I have never had this sort of thing happen. Though I have become familiar watching my partners PC...
Aside from my Mac superiority the Malware warning did get injected as soon as I hit the page. I did not catch the advertisement as I forced Safari to quit immediately.
Please be more discriminate on your advertisers please.
Luckily I was a Mac user and my superior choice in computing systems saved me from malicious evil doers. ;-b
Who am I kidding I run windows in Parallels. Though going back to snapshots pretty much rocks.
I didn't get that problem AT all. . .
But I A. I am using Firefox
B. In Safari I have my pop up windows blocked. . .
Hmmmm Even if that DID happen to me, I am not worried. . .I have a Mac! Right?

I am in Safari with pop ups blocked.
This is what happened. I clicked on creative bits this morning and it instantly moved THIS window to some crap about my computer not working fast enough. I wasn't even in CB anymore. Just the other website. It was janky.
"found them to be more assured of their superiority, less modest and more open than the general population." ...Which is why they explored and appreciated the Mac in the first place. Most people that don't explore options and aren't as headstrong with making informed decisions wouldn't have gotten past the one-button mouse when comparing to a PC. Personally, this is the reason I don't buy iPods, I stick to creative zens; better sound quality, more versatile, ease of use, and the lack of conformity. ;)
I love the pc guy!
seriousness versus fun - under the hammer versus top of the world.
the advertising is brilliant. who doesn't want to feel laid back AND have fun PLUS have a great piece of hardware/software combination?

So funny: My mom, in her 60s, identifies with the mac character. I would have never guessed that! (She's a mac user!) Shows the effectiveness and wide reach of apple's advertising.
Now if they could just crack that 10% domestic computer marketshare ceiling and really start chipping away at the PC market...
