Macsolutions website

This is my first website, hopefully someone could help me with the banner as it looks a bit bland and spacey, it needs something to lift it. I am using Dreamweaver cs3 to build it but when I view it in a browser, the text looks bloated and not as sharp as the image provided. My website index page is live at www.macsolutions.co.uk with no links. I have also included my business card which has got me stumped as I know something is wrong in the design, all help would be most appreciated. Thanks Tom

A bit gloomy, but very clean and professional looking. I like the colors you chose, but I would like to see more white. The black is overwhelming. The banner works (it does its job), don't beat yourself up over it.

- How about centering your links above your banner instead of having them left justified. I recommend centering the text on your footer too, they look awkward as they are now.

-If you want to have your contact information on the home page, try to arrange it so they are not so far apart from each other.

- How about having those Macs against a white background?

Good job though. Looks pretty good considering its your first website. My first website looked like "VOMIT". I have it archived for when I need a good laugh!

Good looking site, if not a bit 'apple-y' looking.

A few things:

  • I hate reading white text on black background (yes I hate cb too for this reason; the old gray style disappeared for some reason)
  • Your logo should be top left, not right and should be the home link. This is standard practice. Right now your tagline looks like your logo.
  • Make sure your site is 800px wide or narrower. Most people will be looking on your site on a 15" screen, on average and this width usually works best.
  • Is your website going to be W3C standards compliant? Go here for more info.

Otherwise, nicely done.
