very nice, however
I've said it once, and i'll say it again... if you want a truly thought out critique from us, then the best way is to give us SOME SORT of background information/brief of the presented work..
with that said, the logo is nice, it's clean, it's simple, the only problem is the gradients, how does this print in black and white? all in all, very nice and clean. i like it...

I like it but those extra little effects would probably have to be dropped at smaller sizes and restricted color situations.
I don't know why people keep doing logos with gradients, bevels, glows, etc. It looks so messy at small sizes, and as Archmedia said already - a pain in black and white.
It looks awkward with the beveled "E". I would take out all gradients, etc. Other than that I like it as well.

it doesn't look beveled to me, but i know what youre saying, the white swooshy blurry line inside the AE and then the overall one across the whole word.
glad we agree on it though heh

I like the subtle infinite loop in the "ae" - I'm not sure what it's doing in there since there's no brief or outline :P What I do not like is that shine on the top left of the "a". It's not needed.
I'd like to see a version where maestra is kerned tighter - not as tight as "ae" but pretty tight.
If this is a web company, I think it's ok to have all the photoshoppy effects. But you should make a flat colour version for use on stationery and invoices. We aren't paperless yet. Besides, if this company sponsor some sort of event you will need a print friendly version that won't turn to mush when scaled.
Very nice!
Since it's only one letter off from my maiden name (Maestri).
Otherwise, I have to agree with archmedia, we can't really critique anything unless you're giving us a brief synopsis of what it's for, target market, etc.
