Manga vectorizing

I had to make a life size cut-out using this cartoon character, so instead of using any vectorizing software I decided to trace it in Freehand manually. It only took about 2 hours, but now I can resize this vector to any size I want. I'm not very comfortable with the line widths generally and especially with the facial details, because the original was so blurry I couldn't make out what's going on. I used an eps and placed into Freehand, so I could pick up colors directly from the placed image. Also, I put a layer with 50% white between the locked placed image and my illustration. How can I improve the illustration? Does it give back the original's character?

Just a couple things I see you missed... the jewel on the necklace is missing, and that yellow triangle in his midsection should be skin colored, I think it's part of his stomach. You also missed the back part of that scarf thing hanging between his legs... Besides those things I think you could make the lines inside the hair a bit thiner and maybe the ones on his neck as well.
Other than what I mentioned it looks very nice... great job Ivan... it was a pleasure critiqueing your work!
Well done, I agree on the details mentioned by whitnet1, and I'm adding one more - maybe the face would look better if you coloured the inide of his mouth with the red color instead of the orange one. I think the difference between the original face and the one made by you are the missing shadows shadows (teeth, mouth) and maybe the colour of the face you've created is little bit more orange.
But I like it the way you did it!

first of all thumbs up, it is a good work.
i find that some of your lines are too strong on the body and on the arms, i mean u used the same line weight inside the body and outside the body everywhere. the original work contains different lineweights and triangle based lines.
But some part of your work is better than the original :).
