marry caribbean

I'm trying to do a logo for my moms new website which should cater to affluent American women who want to go on a destination wedding/honeymoon in the Caribbean.
Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

ALL GOOD!
I can't choose.. not bottom left.
overall good start
A1, A2, B2, C2 - Little boring.
B1 - This is good, but the y and the e are fighting.
C1 - This is good, but the Carribean needs more space.
D1 - This one looks like an exit sign. Maybe too modern, but the idea is really good.
D2, D3 - I like these.
A3 - No.
B3 - Not as it is, but using these animals is a good idea. Make them either smaller or bigger, so the logo symbol and the logo type won't fight.
C3 - Works, but somewhat common for marine and travel stuff.
nice start
A1 is nice, but like Ivan said... a little boring.
I especially like D1, but i'm not sure how well it fits the target audience.
D2 is nice... i think it has better vertical balance than D3.. although to me it looks like the word Marry is drifting to the right a little? IE: the N in Caribbean should be in line with the edge of the Y glyph. I'd be tidying this one up and heading down that path if i were you (just my 2c though).
B3 - i like this logo.. but it is way to Marine for this application i think.. it makes me think yacht company or cruise liner... not weddings.
There are some that stand
There are some that stand out as being good to work with and fine-tune.
D1 -- Unique look. I agree with the comment of it giving a bit of an exit sign look. You could even try to tag this into a line for the company about "Exit into a new experience.." (I'm not marketing guy, but you get my drift!)
B3 -- The seahorses are a great look, but not with the logo the way it is. Maybe one on the side? Or make them more transparent and place them behind the text? I just like that because it can become the "face" of the company. Place that throughout the website, on any knick-knacks she hands out, etc.
You could even combine the two -- text design from D1, with a seahorse flush against the text on the right side. Just a thought!
Maybe change the emphasis...
Have you thought about putting the emphasis on "Carribean" rather than on "Marry"? Marry, as a word, seems a little awkward standing out by itself like that. I think it's because it is a verb - it just seems out of context and disconnected. It may help if you used a more traditional "wedding" font - a delicate script of some kind, to give it some context.
Too bad you can't portray
Too bad you can't portray the seahorses upside down--their tails curve so perfectly to form a heart. Maybe there's a way to alter them to do this...
In regards to my fav, I'd have to say B3 (Bingo!). However, I'd flush the text the same width, and have the two words nearer to each other in point size--I find the Caribbean becoming lost as the logo reduces.

B3 and D3
Love the sea horses but perhaps they could be gray and behind the text. D3 is simple and contemporary. Best of luck choosing.
thanks guys
Awesome feedback! Wow this forum is the bmb. A lot of great suggestions. I'll keep you guys in the loop once i start getting down to the nitty-gritty

Of all these, I'm drawn most
Of all these, I'm drawn most to the one with the seahorses, but only because it provides some visual interest beyond boring type. The problem, though, is that seahorses have an odd sex life. You might want to study up on it before latching onto them for your logo. If you do use them, though, why have them facing away from each other?
I agree that you are tending to give too much weight to the word "marry." That's the given element, the thing that's already in the picture. What you want to introduce is the glamour and romance of the Caribbean. Nothing here conveys that to me at all.
Why not try something illustrative with the word "Caribbean"? I don't mean just a fluffy font. If you don't feel illustration is your forte, you could try using a beautiful photo to fill big block letters spelling out Caribbean. Integrate the word "Marry" into that, perhaps tying the elements together with a strand of pearls. Or not. Get creative!

perhaps somehting simpler.
Souds like a good idea but I know for the purposes of this client. Black and white reproduction is a must. Lots of faxing going on. And I think a detailed photo like that will be very vague.
I do nderstand your suggestions about the seahorse, but there are also some very beutiful things about their habits too. Like they usually mate for life, and the tils are for holding onto sea grass through the strong currents...

As pointed out, several of us were drawn to the logo with the seaequine, yet the graphical component(s) still requires a lot of work.
All good points from Mara. None of these are saying getting hitched in the Caribbean. I'd try mixing in a little passion and some introspect, and have some fun with this logo..it's your mom's!

D2 or D3
I would suggest either D2 or D3, however I feel like there is definitely room to explore other options. Perhaps try creating a balanced circular mark inspired by the sea. Then come up with some nice typography to accompany it.
Good luck,
Lawrence

What about a starfish?
I like the seahorses too but Mara has a good point. Doesn't the male give birth to the babies? Ha ha...that might be the perfect subliminal message for the target audience though...
The stripped bar between the wording doesn't strike me as carribean. Maybe it is...I haven't been there.
I also agree that the word marry should possibly be in a script font. But choose carefully...lots of tacky and overused ones.
You might want to consider what message the identity of the company will send out: a tropical carefree vacation theme, or professional, serious, "it's in good hands" theme.
I'm trying to stay away from
I'm trying to stay away from the scripty font on this one because there is a woman my mother works with who is direct competition and this is her logo.
Mom wants something really different than hers.

B3 without an iota of doubt.
B3 without an iota of doubt. I would develop 2 more versions of that. I choose it because it has a strong upscale look, it expresses the the joining of two people, sea horses :) (think exclusive yacht club)
NEVER DOUBT, what you can do, with a little Imaji Nation
Everyone Loves the Seahorses...
... so why not have them face each other and tilt the snouts down. That way you can create the love heart shape and it makes them look more engaged with each other. Also, I would whip out a pencil and just start sketching. These look like you have just picked fonts and started combining elements. Let your hands run free for a little while and I'm sure you will unlock something great.
final product
I had loved the seahorse design but the client didn't. I did so many rounds (almost 20) and here is the final logo. It wasn't my fave but the client is super-happy.
