But this also mean the text Mastercard isn't inside the logo but outside and perhaps that's not too good in form of recognize if not the Mastercard text isn't belong..
Would you recognize the new logo without the Mastercard text below right away?

I don't like the new logo at all. The off-center glassy circle makes the entire logo muddy. That logo will not reproduce well at the tiny sizes on credit cards. They were really gradient-happy with this rebranding.

This logo is more all-encompassing of MasterCard as a whole, so we won't see it as much. From their press release:
The familiar interlocking circles that symbolize MasterCard to millions of consumers around the world will continue to appear on all MasterCard-branded cards and at merchant acceptance locations around the world. MasterCard also will continue the award-winning global Priceless advertising campaign, now seen in 106 countries and in 49 languages. http://www.mastercardintl.com/cgi-bin/newsroom.cgi?id=1282&category=all
gradient happy is as good a description as it gets!
I wouldn't be shocked if down the road it become more of a glossy reflective finish on the bank card/credit cards. wouldn't put it past them even if it's tacky!
Was the designer just mucking around in illustrator for 3 minutes? It looks like very basic, unrefined Illustrator work. I would expect much better from a global company like MasterCard.
Im not even going to start commenting on the logo...
the essence of mastercard was 2 circles, not 3.
I just want to say that the last 3 big rebrandings i witnessed: intel, kodak and this one, all have unfortunate typography. its like nobody "finds" a decent font anymore.
and generally it feels like agencies are just hiding bad work behind beautiful words and then charge huge amounts of money for it.
all i want to learn from them is how the hell can you sell crap like that?
i mean, im having trouble selling a good logo, i never thought about
selling a crappy one.
i dunno, it feels like somebody at mastercard has a nephew somewhere in the industry.
anyway, i wish both of them good luck with the gradients.

What's up with the third
What's up with the third off-center circle?? I don't get it. I don't think this new logo is so good.
It feels futuristic

It's gross.
Oh.

But I still think it's gross.
I read that too
But I also still don't like it.
