Matt Davey Designs Site (Take 2)

I took on board what you had to say about the previous site design (www.mddesigns.co.nr) which is still up and running. Based on your comments and other things i have made this design it will eventually have the md2 logo in the top right but dosnt seem to want to work right now! Be Glad to hear you comments ... Which one is better 1 www.mddesigns.co.nr or 2 http://souk.rogerthat.net/Mddesigns/BETA/betahome.html

Thanks
Matt Davey

Everything looks pretty decent, yet still feels unrefined and clunky (I understand this is just a thumbnail). All of your Navigation text and Headline text is HUGE! The nav text can definitely be smaller, because it is in a standard position, therefore, it doesn't have to scream at the viewer. Also, "Sneak Peek" feels too large for that space.

Try to think of a way to better integrate your name and logo, as opposed to just throwing in the logo wherever it will fit.

One last pet peeve, why the links to "Free Domain" and "Sumo Baby?" This looks incredibly unprofessional. Just pay the cash to by a domain name, and pay the few dollars for monthly hosting, and you can lose those eye sores and increase the appeal of your image. Because having those links there reminds me of a 13 year olds bad Geocities website.

Hope this helps.

I no very annoying but im only 16 and dont like the idea of paying monthly. I have had a look at sites like godaddy.com but does buying a domain like .co.uk come with easy instructions how to link back to your files?

You're 16? Well done!

I have to say, though, that I like the first version of the site better. The other comment I would make is to narrow down your message, tell a story with your site. Give the viewer a hierarchy of submessages by way of your navigation. Keep It Simple is just as important as WYSIWYG. ;)

The Matt Davey Designs isn't very distinct. You might want to pick a more interesting (read descriptive) font for business. Do you have a logo icon? Might help to have that too.

Otherwise, good clean layouts (I just had an issue viewing your first site in Firefox; the navigation was covered by the 'New' box0.
