New logo concepts for Independent Media Production Company. All works in progress.
Once again we tried to make them a bit more modern based on previous reaction from everyone, and our disappointment with them.

on the whole they are quite solid, very generic, stock logo site style logo's. There is too much glitter and gold trying to make something uninspired shine.
strip these back. take a look. none would work in solid black and white.
I haven't read the back-story on these, but with a name like '0 media group', I would play on the abbreviation OMG! that could be a strong concept.

a good logo doesnt need (and shouldnt have) glows and shadows.
concentrate on the mark itself. not the presentation...
5-8 bother me... i know you're trying to put some perspective on the 'O', but it just looks smooshed.
1/3 = AT&T logo
2&4 Too 'stock' looking.
9-12 Why? I do like the lettering on 11/12. Instead of a - in the O, how about a play symbol?
There are some good ideas to play with, but I agree with monkey that the OMG acronym offers a lot of opportunities to explore.

I agree with everything above. You should hire Monkey. He's a genius.
I agree all logos should be able to be reproduced in black/white but I think we can relax that idea when dealing with media and web companies. Yes, black/white is a 'rule' but it can be broken....sometimes.
But not this time. You're just not giving us very good reason to break this rule.
There is nothing very exciting going on here. I'm drawn to the dots, personally, but the execution is lacking. I'm just not feeling the 3D effect of the spots as you go to towards the far edges. The typography is kinda, meh. Like we just found a cool FREE font and threw it on the page.
That's my two cents.

Love Monkey's OMG idea, but I think it's actually OG because "OMedia" is one word - isn't it?
I think the first thing you need to do is pare down some. You have four ideas here...
The ATT thing

Star Trek
and fuzzy star nova ball of light thingy
Changing the font does not constitute a new idea. Those are your 4 ideas. Work from there. I used to like the ball of light thing - but the fuzz ruins it for me. Now I'm with Qwerty - Star Trek seems the most promising of four (not very strong) ideas.
It's a play on my last name actually, brief history:
OProductions - Original Company being "Oppegaard Productions"
We branched out into Media Systems Integration, and Media Engineering, at the same time starting a Media Consulting Branch
OMedia Group formed as the umbrella to all of the smaller jobs....
Needless to say there are a bunch of much brighter people working with me :-)

Well, here's the sad part.
We paid for these. These are being developed by one of those online logo houses, and I truly regret not simply hiring an independent, like one on here.
I think at this point the best bet may be to just agree on one that isn't completely trash, and just move on.
Or cut your losses and work out a price with a designer here...Monkey might be your man.

Let the feeding frenzy begin.
Good lesson for everyone concerning those cut rate logo places. I was wondering why none of our wonderful professional advice was making a dent in any of these ideas - they didn't seem to change at all from one set to the next, imho.
