The company's name is 'mereb', an Amharic term (national language of Ethiopia), meaning net or mesh in English. i would say the font doesn't say technology to me. and the net has such fine lines in it that it can easily disappear.
It reminds me of a pharmeceutical logo, not technotlogy........the net also KIND looks like a cowboy hat at first glance too..

Doesn't look high tech to me. Also, the net is a bit too generic.
Actually, the logo is developed for the client's e-commerce undertaking. That's going to be their main line of work in the future. And because the target groups are families in the middle income bracket (especially women), I thought a voluptuous typeface and a corresponding icon would be great. That's why we deem the net to be generic, since e-tailers sell various kind of goods.
At the same time, they want their subordinate services (technologies) to have an identical brand. (Quite a challenge!)
I totally agree the icon's possiblity of disappearing when lower re-sized. I will work on that. But, I'm not sure how it appeared pharmaceutical? Is it the colour or the typeface?
