I think it's very very thin. Try expanding the width to about 900px. And if you want try splitting the text into 2 columns so that it is easier to read. The background behind the text also needs a little alteration. The background is good except for that really dark spot that makes it hard to read. The stroke behind the text in your navigation bar is also unessecary in my opinion.
Im not sure if i agree about the page being 900px, but It does need to be wider, perhaps 770px.. its a comfortable width for users and I find it nice to work with :) .
I agree about the 2 columns, but I wouldnt put text in both, maybe just one column for text and another column for upcoming gigs and links perhaps? ( see - www.lifesentence.co.uk < / shameless plug > )
I like the sites style and I think it would work well. Would be good to see some more page designs though, e.g - gigs and photos etc

Just because you have ~1024px to work with (as the more or less new standard resoultion) doesn't mean you should be pushing your design to be that big. Less is more, try to make it unique, which I see you trying to do but it can definitely still use some more tweaks.
Two columns sounds good, a good length of a line is ~50 characters if you're going for easy readability.
yea man totally, I mean, theres no reason why if the site will be built in css (which im hoping this will be), that there isnt a liquid layout of the site available. That will then suite most browsers > 1024.
Thanks for the tip David about 50 characters, thats useful :)
well 2 columns sounds great to me, but first i have to talk to the band, to know what kind of material they want to put on the site, i'm gonna make more variants.
and one more time for your comments.

I love it. I think the column-width is really good; a lot of web sites expand to to fill the browser window and their readability suffers for it. This one feels just right.
Two-column text on websites is usually not a really good idea. If the text has any length, it would require the user to scroll twice to read it. If you're certain that the text will be short enough, then it might work out fine, but why risk it?
I agree removing the stroke from the navigation and the big blob in the background, and I'll add that the "o" of that type you're using in the headline looks just a bit like an "a". It's not really an issue, but you might wanna just touch it a bit. I dunno.
I don't mind it being this thin, really. I think it just adds to the style. It would better suit you though if you had a splash page that opened the actual site into a new window that is better fit for this layout.
The only things I think are really worth mentioning are the blob in the background, kerning in the links, and the weird shape that the paragraphs are making (#2 and #3 specifically). Other than that, I totally dig it. :P
Little copy heavy at the moment. But I'm sure you gonna have lists, thumbnails and other things in the copy to break the monotony. Like the narrow layout.
Definitely make note of what the guys above said about sizing and screen resolution. Aside from that, I quite like the look. It suits a band very well. Good work!
a guy from the band was searching if the band's name was used on internet... and he saw my template(actualy, he's from the same city i'm livin in...) and asked me if i could make it. so here i am, rockin the xhtml and css codes.... :D
thanks for your comments,
I removed the stokes from the Menu's links, actualy i'm gonna use text links insead of images links(i guess)
and the little dirt thingie in the behind the text os the conten was removed...
and yes i'm thinkin to use a splash screen because the site will be bilingual, english and portuguese version...
right now i can't decide which text family i sohuld use :O
and thank you all for your comments and support! it means a lot to me!

Other than those few things I like it.
