More Campus Services Icons
Korteenea (207 pencils) | Mon, 2005-08-29 05:16Here's a couple more icons for services offered on campus. Webmail utilizes a Novell-based system, so the large red N is incorporated in the stamp. The red N is well known on campus as being the thing you click to log into webmail from the website, therefor it was included in the icon. The second icon is for the school's WebAdvisor system. It's basically a system that the Registrar and Business offices use to convey information to students (bills, class schedules, etc.) Both of these icons were really a rush job... we were a few minutes away from finalizing a NetBoot image for the school computers, and we wanted to have nice icons for all the shortcuts in the dock rather than just for Facilities and TechConnection (I posted the icons for these several days ago.) So I hurried up and threw these together to go with them. I'm unhappy with the spider web in the WebAdvisor icon, and the N stamp is relatively simplistic... not much to it. But they look nice with the other icons, so no one's complaining, lol.

I would prefer to have a bit more detail on the stamp. Do they not mind that you show Africa on the globe?
Nice and clean icons...What if you incorporated the spiderweb onto the globe itself but it ran under the land. Would make the bottom of the globe visible and you could still have the web as a strong presence.

The web is REALLY cool...definitely dig that.
My only suggestion would be more detail in the stamp (as mentioned above). Maybe a stamp or some worn/rugged detail?
Anway, excellent work. I'd love a write-up on your process/tools/methods.
