More whining for my follow forum freaks

Broke my right wrist in two places a week ago. Sorry, no dramatic story. I just tripped and fell on the flagstone path leading to my front porch. Ran out the hydromorphon (generic for Dilaudid) Rx on Thursday and let me assure you, Extra Strength Tylenol is NOT a pretty good substitute, so I hurt like hell. I'm at the mercy of volunteer chauffeurs to get into town to keep meetings with clients, because my only vehicle is a pickup truck with manual transmission, which, of course, I can't drive now. Great outpourings of sympathy and practical advice will be received with profound appreciation. Thanks!
No Pain
No gain! lol
No really. I'm sorry to hear about it. Once I played basketball on hot asphalt. I didn't walk for a week! lol

i empathize. when i broke my leg, i couldn't drive my manual transmission car and i was miserable.
while i *love* manual, right now i have an auto and would be safer if i do something stupid like that to myself again.
i have some hydrocodone in the medicine cabinet that i didn't finish when i had surgery on my pinky (broken, dislocated, torn ligament) a few months ago, and i hope it sits there unused until it's way past expiration, but i'm happy to have it there for an emergency now.
good luck to you, hopefully you'll heal quickly (and well). and hopefully it won't be too long until the pain subsides enough to be able to shift.

There's not a chance you're a lefty, is there?

Mara that's too bad, I'm so sorry!
You should do video conference calls on Skype instead of driving. Save your hand and gasoline at the same time. Just get a camera, go to www.skype.com and get the free software (mac or pc) and ur off and running. I have a logitech 3000 camera.
Get better soon!

Yikes.
I broke my left one in 7th grade. Can't imagine doing it now-- let alone the right one.
Well that just sucks.
You're not whining, you're roaring in utter pain and frustration. I'm so sorry to hear about your injury, Mara...especially with the limb which makes most of us our living.
Hope you heal quick and ache-free.
Yours,
3Dog.

I broke my right thumb
I broke my right thumb playing softball a couple of years ago. I had to use my left thumb to work my cable remote. The horror...

I just seriously stubbed my middle toe on my left foot, now it matches the right ankle that's been foo-barred since last year. Ah, what a joy injuries are. And I'm actually getting better, if you can believe it -- at least my shoulders don't hurt anymore. :)

Thanks, you guys! I live for
Thanks, you guys! I live for sympathy these days. It's soooooooo frustrating b/c I have loads of work coming in lately. At least the osteopathic dude gave me a good report today: no surgery needed, bones knitting fine without pins. Whew! Whadda relief. Natters, I might take up your Skype idea, except, well, you know, we female types like to look good on camera, and putting on my makeup and blow-drying my hair left-handed takes me something like two hours, with pretty comical results, so I dunno how much I'd be helping myself -- but they say all the world loves a clown, so...

Understood; I've had a few too many calls in the morning with mom and I haven't yet showered. Ugly! :)
Just put some vaseline on the camera lens. That will soften up all the edges. :) KIDDING.

start wearing hats???
start wearing hats??? ;)
glad to hear no surgery. never broke anything but maybe a finger (undiagnosed) before i turned 30. then the next 15 years brought two broken wrists (soccer), a broken leg (bicycle wreck), and recently the broken/dislocated pinky with the torn tendon (soccer again).
maybe i should learn from this and give up soccer, but it's the only thing that keeps my waistline from expanding any further than it already has.
hang in there.
