Most Memorable Holiday Ad/Marketing Collateral
3dogmama (1991 pencils) | Mon, 2009-12-07 03:55I couldn't find the piece for this slick billboard I saw years ago in Toronto so I quickly rendered what still sticks with me. I found it the most effective Christmas ad piece around...and still to this day other than Canadian Tire's wrapped tail-wagging dog.
What is the most memorable holiday ad/marketing vehicle for you?

It has to be the coke santa ads, they have to be the most iconic piece of marketing ever, seeing as the only reason santa wears red now is because of coca cola!

And they probably own the rights to santa.
16 billion colours and you choose the one i cant create !??!
Might be very true, though when I think of Christmas I don't instantly think of a nice and cool coke. For me coke is more a summer thing (to cool you down). But yeah, the Coca Cola commercials for Christmas are very iconic and a long running campaign. Specially the one with the trucks is famous I think.
This one is very iconic for me as well:

What's more surprising to me is the awesome way they used outer glow on the copy ;p but I still like it hehe (the ad, not the outerglow)

I'd like to teach the world to sing... in perfect harmony.
Also Coke. I guess they have that holiday nailed down pretty well.
Mostly used by the mobile companies, but the use of the old stop-motion characters ala Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer for ad campaigns really brings back the Christmas memories for me. I see that stop-motion and it immediately screams CHRISTMAS at me, even if it's being ripped off now for marketing purposes.
Another one is the Budweiser Clydesdales pulling a sleigh.
the toblerone advert is genius.
living on dreams and custard creams.
Wait a tick, I don't understand the Toblerone ad... why is it missing the L?
If it doesn't sell, it isn't creative.

The L is missing, so there is no L... NOEL

Haha of course! Very clever.
Yeah Coca Cola seems to dominate Christmas. I always enjoy seeing the Coca Cola delivery trucks lined with Christmas lights.
