MPEG TO MOV - NO SOUND

Can anyone suggest how i can convert mpeg movies to mov files so that the ipod video will play back the sound and not only the image.

Even with quicktime pro, the export from mpeg to mov does not allow in the options to select the sound.

any help would be great

a lot of mpegs are muxed, which means that the audio and video are combined into the same track. which creates a smaller file, but is a hassle if you want to export said file to some other format. search version tracker for "demux" and you will probably find something that will work.

the .mov files are mpegs! However even at that, ipod doesnt like .mov files. you need to convert them too .mp4 (mpeg4) and they have to have the correct dimensions for ipod (320x180???)

Try importing the video to itunes, it should convert it instantly for ipod. Failing that, try and use something called ffmpegX, you can download it from macupdate or downloads.com.

Hope it helps.
