Mute 2: Second attempt...LOGOS

So here is my second attempt at the logo for Mute.
I'm sticking with one typeface..and I played around with a few logos.
The symbol is two quote marks inverted...without a quote.
Let me know your thoughts..

I thought it said "Smute"
I thought it said "Smute" before i got a closer look.. number 3 looks like a cheesy Word text art. i'm not sure what savant means... sorry.
I do like the tagline no need to shout. but it seems like you would need a more playful font choice then what you have chosen...

Looks like your going to do this "Mute" thing after all eh? In my opinion, none of these will work for me. Heres why.....
1. They dont really represent anything about your company.
2. Taglines rarely work on logo's.
3. The logo element (quote without a quote) looks like an "S", which makes it confusing to read.......I read "SMUTE" the first time.
4. The black boxes are too big and obnoxious, confining your logo inside a black box is a no no.
5. The fonts are boring.
6. When creating a logo, start with black and white first. STAY AWAY FROM SHADOWS and GRADIENTS.
Perhaps you might want to read up on the fundamentals of logo design. Keep in mind that your logo has to be clean and simple, yet be able to be scaled to different sizes without it getting distorted because of small details, gradients, shadows or tag lines.
You got a descent start, but doesn't seems like you planned out what you want your logo to look like. Don't wing it. Do some brainstorming. What do you want your logo to say about your company? Try incorporating that into your logo instead of that funky looking "quote" element, if not.......work on better incorporating the quotation marks. Don't worry about color yet, just work in black and white. All in all, #4 has the best potential so far......but step back, re-think what your aiming for......and build from there.

The black boxes weren't supposed to constrain the logo; just show the logo negative.
Do you think I shouldn't have a tag line at all?

nothing wrong with a tagline, but your logo should stand without it, so don't make it a core element of the logo.
Taglines never help...
Yeah........drop the tag line. I think some would argue that you should leave the tag line because your concept of "MUTE" as a company name is confusing and any extra help at understanding that would probably be appreciated. However, there are important and reasonable rules you should always follow in order to create an acceptable logo. A tag line is hardly acceptable on a logo. Its amateurish and intrusive.
What do you think will happen to your tag line when you scale down your logo really small?

Your concept as it is isn't moving me at all, though the top design seemed the most eyecatching.

If any, number 2 but move the quotation marks...perhaps above and to the right of the e so as not to confuse. The font is still very boring. No probs with the tagline, but as noted above, it shouldn't have to hold together or explain the logo.
Have you sat down and sketched out your ideas? I find this paramount to the initial design process.

First Business Card
I like the idea of your first business card better. I do not care for the extruded font or that it is italicized. Your card would be awesome if the word “MUTE” could be embossed on the business card, with a subdued tagline. Look at these cards;
