my keyboard hates me

i have the most hateful keyboard. sometimes it stops working, sometimes i can unplug it from the computer and plug it back in and it works, sometimes i have to restart the computer. i have searched apple and since it is considered a "plug n play" there is no firmware to install. does anyone have any ideas? because otherwise this computer is going off the building! p.s. yes i have tried other keyboards and the issue is still there.

Clean the cable connections. If it's happening with different keyboards, it sounds like either the plug itself or the computer.

okay. thanks. it must be the computer, i have tried different plugs into different ports. so since it's the computer is there anything I can do?
