My new website
Antal Boros (5 pencils) | Mon, 2010-07-26 22:34Hi,
I just created this new website. I am working to better myself, but this is my current skill level. I was wondering if anybody could give me a thought on how to make it look better and more creative and remain simple-looking at the same time.
Any thoughts?
Cheers,

I was going to bitch at you for not putting your site in the critique section, where it SHOULD be but glancing at your art my God is it ever good. The site is very mediocre, a few links are broken and reflections on some pages but not others? Meh.
But your art is fantastic! I would just pay someone to design something worthwhile man.

Some great artwork. I particularly like your drawings.
The site is inconsistent from page to page. I would keep the system to view images the same for drawings, paintings and carpets. And why does the menu change on the contact and links pages?
Maybe it's because I use a laptop, but everything seems a bit too big. I have to scroll to see the image on the home page. I think the headings at the top of the pages could be reduced greatly in size. I do like the idea of incorporating your work into the headers. And perhaps it's just a personal preference, but I've never been a fan of the moving thumbnails.

Wow - nice stuff - you have a very bright future if you keep at it.
The website? Not so much. Ollie made some good points I totally agree with and I'll add...
Ditch the Lithos for the headers. That is sooooooo 1987 and it conflicts with the Papyrus or whatever that other "old" font it is you're using. If you have to use a novelty font - pick one and stick with it - don't mix and match.
The reflections. I would ditch all of them.
The contact page? Total mess. You want simple? Name, address, etc... - forget all the shadows, reflections, blurs, etc... Exercise the KISS theory on that page.
LOVE YOUR ARTWORK.
Hate your website.
If I were you I would just go plain. Remove everything that doesn't need to be there.
Guests? Reflections? That Flash thing?
Too much going on

Agree with all the above. Your website is not doing your obvious talent justice. Get a professional web designer on board. As an aside are you familiar with the work of Alex Grey and his partnership with the band Tool? http://www.alexgrey.com/ You seem to share similar artistic outlooks.

Alex Grey is a phenomenal artist and an even better business man.

you should keep compatibility of all users in mind, im at work on a smaller screen, and i can only view about half of it without scrolling to the right. there are some people who only have a lower resolution monitor.
Your artwork is fantastic, but your website is very poor.
pls change the bg color and make it simple.
some links are not working and picture are not displaying
