My Widget Wants
Mintsauce (1004 points) | Thu, 2006-12-21 19:15I like widgets. Well, I like some widgets. Others I can live without.
I can live without my google widget. I don't get the google widget, I really don't. Last time I checked Safari had a google search right there. I've used the Google widget once, to see whether it would give me result in the widget or Safari... Lo and behold, it opened Safari. Maybe if I was too lazy to click the safari icon on the dock I'd rather open the Dashboard and click the google widget. Naah!
Some Widgets come in really handy dandy. Calculator is my most used one [said ashamedly, since I should be able to do those calculations of the top of my head], then there's also the dictionary.
What I really want is an all in one customizable time/date/weather widget, so I don't need to have all three open at the same time. Since they're not all the same size and look ugly together. I like it nice and neat. O well... maybe one day.
So... I want to pose 3 questions:
1 - What's your favourite widget?
2 - What do you consider to be the most useless/pointless widget you've ever encountered? [one that has a function, christmas trees don't count, unless they're singing jingle bells and generating random gift lists.]
3 - What's your dream widget?
Oh, and don't forget... there's also the creativebits widget... very usefull little guy => Creative Bits

1) Both iStat Pro and the BBC Weather Widget which is miles better than the standard version. iStat pro is a great little app and useful for troubleshooting on the fly especially with the new MacBook's that have the ability to boil water with the heat they give off.
2) Definitely the Google widget. I just don't get it.
3) Dream widget would be an accurate transport widget linked to the Transport for London site... One sort of does exist at the moment but it supports less than half the lines and is a bit lame.
