Aline Santos Moreira's picture

Hello, I love this critique session so I decided to post a job my own. Well, I´m still a student and this is a school work, I´m supposed to make a logo with my complete name. I tried to do something clear and elegant, and to create a contrast I made a orange scribble (I don´t know if the word scribble is right, sorry for my poor english), I don´t know, I just felt that there was something missing there.
Ok, now I´m ready to listen to your comments!
Thanks a lot

Good start, but I would try

Good start, but I would try to replace the scribble with something else. (It suggests chaos.) Keep up the good work and come back with the improved version.

WHATS THE CONCEPT!

Right now with everything

Right now with everything centered in a box it's kind of boring, and the scribble doesn't make sense. I would suggest looking at books or magazines with examples of really good logos. It can be inspiring. Then simply sketch out a bunch of different ideas for your own logo (the more the better). Once you have a variety to choose from, narrow it down to a few you really like and work from there.

The golden rule with fonts

The golden rule with fonts is don't mess with their spacing unless you absolutely have to. Try again without the gold scribble (you got that word right!) and focus on the font. Does it have to be inside a square? Possibly a unique shape is in order here.

not logo looking

I like the colors you're using (except the yellow that doesn't go with the pink very much) but I really think that this doesn't have a logo feeling to it and it looks to boxed. I would suggest what oltiesan1 said and look for good logos and get ideas. That doesn't mean copying them, but just getting inspiration from them to create something new. I would suggest this page
