A friend of mine is having a birthday next month and was talking about getting a new tattoo. For the fun of it I decided to continue an earlier lettering exercise to create a unique design of his name.
After a ton of sketches these were the custom lettering options I decided to convert into vector. I've been tweaking and staring at these for the better part of a week and feel I have something close but I'm undecided as to which works the best.
Your feedback and suggestions for improvement are much appreciated. Whatever is decided may be put in ink so I wanted to run this through the meat grinder.

is she (or he?) called magli?

being a big fan of tattoos i'd suggest to show these to the (or 'a') tattoo-artist. i like number three a lot, but it has the look and feel of traditional printtypography, maybe a tattoo-artist could add a nice touch :)
but, it's only an opinion.. it still is a very nice ambigram! ;)
Which body part is this going to be tattooed to? It should be a part that can easily be turned around.
It would be awesome for an inner-wrist tattoo. It would achieve the full effect, in my opinion. My favourite would be the second choice, hands down. Great work! One question, are they going to be in colour?

I think if your friend cares about readability then no 3, though 2 is also nice design wise. I think it would be interesting to see these with a thinner line stroke. Though that may be more feminine than what he had in mind. Nice work.
