Need a little help with Drupal

Hi
Im starting a website for a family business that my folks run.
Basically the site should be a huge collection of articles sorted into
several cathegories. Something like creativebits with the difference
that the site has more presentation/collection value and it is not intended
for a community.
Each article should have content, photos (maybe a whole gallery for certain articles) and maybe a movie.

Im planning to use drupal for it.
The plan is to build the skeleton and then just let my folks enter the content
by using the admin interface.

I can design it, I can implement the HTML/CSS and sometimes i understand a bit of code. but i cant write php.

I would like to ask you for some starting tips, dos and donts,
maybe reccommend me certain modules or features for drupal given the above.

thnx

You won't need to write a line on php code. If you choose one of the existing themes, you won't need any html/css either. If you want to modify an existing theme you will need to edit the files page.tpl.php and the style.css files.

Post your doubts, will try to help!

yeah, post any specific problems you have and i am sure there are folks on here who have experienced the same issue. ivan is especially smart when it comes to drupal. and i just finished writing my first theme from scratch (also a couple modules), so i am beginning to understand the workings of drupal a little bit too.
