Need some Website HELP!!!!
onegirlcreative (1090 pencils) | Wed, 2008-11-12 17:49Hey Designers!
I am in the process of working on a website from a template (that was created by somebody else a year ago) at my new job. It's a great learning experience, that's for sure.
Anyway, my question is, the other web designer created the template in Dreamweaver and I am trying to edit certain things (i.e. © info at the bottom of page) to update. Since the template was created over a year ago, some things have changed since its original design/creation.
How on earth do I edit these regions that are locked? I have a book on DW CS3 and I can't find it anywhere and it's driving me crazy!!! Anybody know or is this a little more complex than it seems?
Thanks guys! You're the best!
Suzanne

Being a template, you should be able to view it in code view and change anything you wish - if its the original template (.dwt) and not an HTML file. I am guessing you are seeing a lot of faded out code at the top and bottom of the code? That would suggest its not a template.
Unfortunately it gets a little harder if you don't have the dwt.

But I have already figured it out. I do have the original template files (.dwt) that ARE editable. Luckily, the web designer had everything pretty well organized in separate folders (i.e. templates, etc.), so I figured out that once I opened those up, I was able to edit them. As you can see, I clearly don't know what I'm doing, but at least I'm learning.
Thanks for taking the time to respond.
