new design Business package

Amuse design is a company I am starting that will be mostly for apparel design, I am not a graphic designer, so any feedback will help.

The logo design is perfect for your style. However, I'm not convinced this design presents the 'right feel' for your work and I don't think the yellow bars are helping. When I think of your design style I think of 'free flowing', 'energy' and 'fun'. Unfortunately what you've got seems a bit boring and traditional to me. Communicate your true image!

Take a look at some of these designs for inpiration.

Pay particular attention to scale, especially in the logo. Right now I think your logo is a tad too large and too close to the trim. Envelopes are usually a bit boring unless you decide to design on the back flap or fill the inside with a pattern. Doing so requires the envelopes be 'converted' and adds about another $250 in cost per 1,000. Another option is to use a place like http://www.americasprinter.com. They'll print and convert 1,000 envelopes and 1,000 letterhead 4/4 for around $300 and they do some really nice work.

I'd also consider moving the long tagline away from the logo on the letterhead. And don't foget to design the back of the business card. I can see one of your apparel patterns on it with your web address.

P.S. - I really like your new website and it was nice to see some of the other work in your portfolio. Great work!

great feedback.
you're right, i tried to keep it very simple, maybe that's why it's a bit boring, before I was using the circle pattern from my website, but it was competeing with the logo.
i tried to keep it fun with the (supposed to be) lime color, but i have to fix it, too yellow....
thanks for the website accolade, it's nice to hear, i've been working on it for 2 months now. i'm a newbie on dreamweaver, still have some problems in the code on the service and contact page on PC's.
If you have any advice for my website, i'd love to hear it.
thanks again

You have some great shapes and colors going on in the background of your site. Why don't you try incorporating some of that in the card? Maybe do one side of the card with something similar to your background to add the fun you are looking for, and then keeping the information presentation very simple?

Just an idea.

i had done a few designs with the circle pattern, but i found they were really competeing with the logo. might work on a two sided card, didn't want to do 2 sided but i'll try it out.
nice first page on your site, btw.

One of these days I will get around to actually finishing it.
I was even thinking if you just had the pattern on one side, that in and of itsef is so unique, I almost don't see a reason to absolutely have to include the logo with it. Perhaps like NRG said, just include the URL across that patterned side and nothing else.

Then on the info side you could perhaps just tuck a few of the smaller circles, at varied sizes overlapping each other into one of the corners, lower the opacity as to not distract too much, and you would have a nice cohesive look front and back.

Once again, just shooting from the hip here.

i think you got it, from the site to here, all but the gradient.
for some reason, it distracts me, not sure why or what it is, but the gradient bar is killing me..

other then that, i personally feel you have it all down. from the logo to the layout. nice work!
