New logo for personal website

Norrin's picture

I am planing to relaunch my personal homepage trying to give it a more professional touch. Therefor I'm developing a whole new identity concept starting with a logo.

The main topics I would like to deal with on my new website will be (underwater) photography, scubadiving and webdesign. I wanted the logo to possibly reflect this as good as possible.

I would very much appreciate any constructive criticism to find out if I succeeded or not. Thanks.

Congrats

I like the balance between the sun and the bubbles. The logo has a very relaxing feel to it.

The only thing I would change is to try to integrate the logotype together with the symbol more. Maybe it's just a matter of changing the logotype to blue.

Anyone who want to take a swim into the ocean?

Great logo!
Makes me wanna just run into sea, ocean or any form of water.. (OK! Perhaps it's due to the heat I'm experiencing right now in my room)

I like it

I really like this logo, but what do you want to represent with it? Just curious.

Me and my private website

The logo is intended to reflect my personal interests, mainly (underwater)photography and scubadiving.

Awesome.

The only thing I can see that you may want to tweak is the color of the font.

It's Good

It's a good idea. First thing i though of was pepsi. (not sure why) But try some more don't just settle with that because we all say its good. You can probably do better. Sorry if i offend.

Norrin's picture

No need to be offended

I appreciate your honesty. I asked for it.

Thank you.

I like it. Simple clean etc.

I like it. Simple clean etc. Very nice... One thing I'll echo is the type doesn't flow with the rest of the design. What if one of the small bubbles was the dot for the "j" or an "i"??? Might look cool. :c)

Thanks a lot

Thank you all very much for your anticipation and the numerous feedback.

Those of you who criticised the logotype met exactly my concerns. So I guess I have to think it over a bit more.

Apart from playing with the color of the type a bit more what would you guys think: Is a type with or without serifs a better fit?

grafixforlife's picture

Definitely keep it sans

Definitely keep it sans serif, your hobbies and intent are rather informal which would be totally opposite to a serif font. Keep the weight medium...no need to go extra bold or light, so in essence you've chosen well so far.

BALETED?

Know what I see?

A smiling whale. Did you ever see one of those under the water, Norrin? That would make me happy.
Nice logo.

Norrin's picture

Sorry to disappoint you ...

... but unfortunately I haven't seen any whales under water yet.

whale

first thought was Whale too...otherwise I like it...Colors are good...except I don't like the white gap all that much.

It's getting there

I like the overall look and feel. I think the typography does need some work. Maybe a font with larger bowls and shorter ascenders? or as mentioned above incorporate the bubbles into the words to soften it's rigidity?

I know Baleted...Strongbad

At first I thought Coke bought out Pepsi or vice-versa. That was before I knew it was going to be about underwater/SCUBA activities and all.
