New MacBook Pros released
Ivan | Tue, 2010-04-13 14:42The much awaited new MacBook Pro models have been released.
They feature the new Core i5 and Core i7 processors. Apple claims these processors are 50% faster than the previous MBP model. This should be the main reason for an upgrade, but this is not all.
The laptops also feature an Apple only technology that allows dynamic switching between a low power consumption slower and a high power consumption and fast graphics card. This allows the battery to last 8-9 hours on one charge in average.
The rest is unchanged. That same cool screen available in glossy and matte, backlit keyboard, large multitouch trackpad, SD HD option and an SD card reader in the 15" model.

This is good news
Infact I am waiting for the processors to make there way in Mac Pro. My company is planning to buy a Mac Pro, so confused should I wait for the new processors or buy the current 8 Core one...
Glad I held off on that purchase last month. Now - do I wait for the Pros or just jump on another powerbook? Hmmm.....
No ups for my mbp for next year... or maybe a solid state HD looks good. I'm curious about next iPhone.
yes I'm brazilian xD
... and the world reacts with a loud YAWN!
These things would make half decent Windows Vista 7 machines though.

I am not Steve Ballmer pretending not to be me!
im trying to sort out if the i7 is worth the extra $200 bones...
The i7 is about 33% faster than the i5, which means when you export a video for example instead of 10 mins. on the i5 it will take 7 mins. This performance boost will only show itself with performance hungry applications where the CPU runs at 100%. Otherwise when using Illustrator or small files in Photoshop the difference will be so little you won't be able to tell which one you're using.
Not worth it unless you're into video or 3D.
I just bought a MBP 13" last month for my birthday. Not that I'm a slave of the "latest model fever", but I'm glad to see that the 13" model hasn't changed. By the way, Apple's timeframes are: January, (April, now), June and September.
I just upgraded to the new MBP and I love the new unibody design...it feels alot stronger and looks better too. I also like the new LED backlit screen, However, the glossiness of the screen makes it really hard to work outdoors - can't see anything! Anyone else find this annoying?
