I made the switch to Canon after 15 yrs + using Nikon Bull..

canon is way more advanced and always will!!!

Check this latest pic I did with the 20d and 16-35mm lens

You can even use 800 or 1600 ISO with great low noise broh!!

Canon or Nikon, they are just tools and one should choose the tool that can do the job comfortably.

On the other hand, I have to agree with pompo. Technically, Nikon is playing catch-up and I feel they are almost 2 years behind the rest. I know a couple of Nikon F5 users (film camera) who moved to Fujifilm FinePix S2 and S3.

Rumors say we should expect the Nikon D200, D90, and D2x to be released together. But no sure date is available..

For 35mm, I'm a Nikon guy too, and I've no idea where Nikon is headed with their digital models. For all the raves about the D70, I find it only a little better than a point and shoot camera. If you don't have much investment in Nikon gear I would consider Canon equipment over Nikon (I agree with Waleed).

If I were starting over (and had money to burn) I'd go with Canon, the full size chip model and their L lenses. Everything else is kind of a faux 35mm. For all the convenience of digital there are still some tradeoffs to be made...like noise, highlight clipping and wide angle problems but, I suppose, these will improve with time. I think a camera choice depends on what you want to use it for...and web pictures or 4 x 6 inch prints don't prove anything.

full size chip is what the D20 has right? my friend has a D20 he's extremely happy with it. do you think the price will go down if i wait after xmas? or is it going to stay for a couple of month? in other words is this the right time to get a Canon D20? thanks guys!

no the 20d it is not a full frame ( I wish!)

The crop factor is x1.6

For me it was the right time to buy it, since I've been waiting forever

for a:

5 fps body with instant startup, LOW noise, fast AF, no shutter lag,

at a decent price with a good file size (24mb).
