Now what?

mck's picture

While shooting at the Balaton yesterday, some crap got in my camera's lens. I've wiped, and wiped, and it won't come o ut. Actually, I can't even see it ont the lens, only on the LCD, but it's not an LCD defect.

Any of you have any idea how to get it out? It's not a scratch (I hope, and I didn't scratch it, either)...is it possible on of the inner lenses got something on them?

dirt on sensor?

If it's a digital camera it may well be dirt on the sensor...

sorry to hear.

Don't try to clean it yourself i would say. Take it to a pro shop! did you change lens while shooting? That's when such things can happen.

mck's picture

I didn't change the lens.

My cam's lens is sealed.

Thanks for the suggestions.

pompo's picture

what ya mean sealed?

the lens is a whole with the body ( not interchangeble lens?)

What does the the "scratch" look like?
Is it just on the LCD or in the pics too?
Is it a Dig cam or not?

That's really strange. Does it show up on the pictures? I would probably take it to a pro rather than risk scratching it by continuously cleaning it.

Sorry but...

Mackie, do you mind if take off your images from the Critique? I linked them here for everyone to be able to check. I think it's easier to follow them all together here in this thread. Also, I think it's better if we keep the Critique for work only.

Same Camera

I have the same Camera and have not encountered that - and hopefully never will. Only problemo I've had with that cam, is the shuttle wheel starting acting weird and would change between different settings simply by pressing on it very lightly. Amen those Futureshop people took it back and gave me a new one. Long live box stores!

Good luck on getting that fixed - keep us posted!

I'm going to contact Sony to

I'm going to contact Sony to see what they can do for me, if nothing, I will take it to a pro. The cam was bought in California, and I'm in Europe now.
