Hi all,
After such a productive response from you all last time I thought I might pose another question to you all. That will hopefully create a spark of something special. I have been asked to come up with a brand for the backend of a catering company website where policies and procedures a forum etc will be available. However, I have been given free choice on the brand name... The company is called Thomas Franks first ideas have been Asparagus, TFForum, arTFul, TFresh.

franks naturally gives me the feeling of unhealthy, grilled food. What kind of food does the place actually have?

Remove the green. Do this in black and white.

To be honest I'm not really seeing a logo here. It doesn't represent anything, it's just the company name all lower case with a swoosh under it. Definitely need to brainstorm on this one.

Agreed.

All I see is type with a little "swoosh" underneath.

I honestly think you need to start over with this, not necessarily to incorporate a restaurant/eatery-type feel, like a graphic, but SOMETHING that conveys food.

I'm just not getting it with this.

As mentioned, definitely work your mock-ups in black & white BEFORE adding colors, as it detracts away from the concept completely.

I echo the above sentiments,

I echo the above sentiments, plus having the logo all horizontal reinforces the unfortunate association with frankfurters.

The logo shown here is unfortunatly the company logo that was created by the previous designer, and the MD will not let me change the company brand what I am looking for here is ideas of names for the company intranet site. They serve the best sustainable, local, organic, fairtrade and seasonal produce with a commitment to the highest standards of service, craft and creativity in all areas of the business. Some ideas I've had:

Rob, why post the logo if

Rob, why post the logo if you don't want a critique on it? Also, it's very annoying that you're doing multiple posts on something that you really should do on your own. If you've been tasked with picking a name, make a case and show 3 options rather than doing the shotgun approach and making us pick for you.

Gah.

This is not what we're here for. This is a design critique. If say, you had two that you thought were best, we could give our opinions. But from what I understand, this is what you are getting paid for. This is not the place for this, imo.

As above...

Reminds of amazon.
It depends on what market you're aiming at, if it's US then franks could be an issue, if it's elsewhere franks don't generally conjure up the same image.

I do like the simplicity but it's almost too simple. Too tailored and not enough time spent on it. I always say to simplify but I thing this is the other extreme, it needs more thought.
