I was wondering if anyone knew any great websites for apply for design work on an off-site basis. I have been looking but I can't find anything on the topic at all...
It's not generally offered,
It's not generally offered, or everyone would be doing it. Normally, you should look for companies looking to do short term hiring, or freelance, and offer your services that way. Any "off-site" job I've ever gotten was as a freelance designer.

only way i've seen that
only way i've seen that offered is when someone was with a company (in-house) for a long time and the company wanted to continue using their services when they moved away. but i've never seen anyone hiring that way. as nate said, "freelance" offers that possibility, but i'm not sure if that's what you were looking for.
interesting...

Because 99% of the companies
Because 99% of the companies out there are worried about folks 'working' at home not getting anything done. :) As if we're getting stuff done onsite anyway!
