Looks really interesting. If this is not new please ignore me ;)
There is a DHTML drag and drop ibterface allowing you to set up a personalised Google portal with any of the following content:
- My Stuff – Gmails, Bookmarks, Search History, Movies, Stock Market
- Google News - BBC, World, Business, Sci/Tech, Sports, Entertainment, Health
- News - New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today, ABC News, Reuters, CNN
- Business – Motley Fool, Fast Company, Forbes, Fortune
- Technology – Wired, Tech Dirt, CNET News.com
- Sports – ESPN, Fox Sports, Sports Illustrated, CBS Sportsline
- Lifestyle – eDiet News, MSNBC Travel, NPR Summer Reading, People Magazine, Simply Recipes
- Fun – Quote of the Day, Reuters Oddly Enough, Ask Yahoo!, "How To" of the Day
- And you can also create your own content by linking to an RSS feed.
Especially intersting that they are using content from some of their competitors, such as Yahoo

I couldn't find anywhere on any of the google sites where they are openly advertising the fact that it exists? Maybe I just wasn't searching hard enough ;)

Been using it here for months... It's really doesn't offer enough options to be completely useful if you ask me. And about once a week or so, it forgets my log in name and password.

It's every two weeks... and it's a feature, not a bug. ;-)
Not the security feature...
It will sometimes forget the login (ignore the cookie) a few times in one day. Besides, it's still annoying. I've used an Excite start page for years and never had to enter a password after the first time.

It's good implementation of AJAX
Sorry for my ignorance...
But what's AJAX?
I've been using the Google Personalized Homepage for a while now... Neat little feature. For fellow Canadians, Google.ca doesn't have a direct link to it but Google.com does.
Ajax...
AJAX = Asynchronous JavaScript and XML
Google for it :) or just go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AJAX
Essentially you use a JS function to make a remote call to a web page/service and pass data back and fourth. The JS function gets data back in the form of XML then you write to the client page using more JS. Google uses it everywhere in it's applications... the idea is you can refresh the content of a page, without reloading the entire page.
Using it for months as well
Handy
Cool!
You might like http://www.netvibes.com/ , too.

I like ig better than netwibes. I'm starting to build in all my bookmarks and feeds into it. Hopefully it will be an ideal start to place my browsing every day.
If it had a ta-da-list kind a feature it would be a killer.

hey, ig may not be new to anyone else, but I had never heard of it....thanks for the tip....it is my new browser home page....with a bookmark to Creative Bits on it...
