The next big thing after Gmail, Flickr and Digg — Newsvine is opening for a wider audience. Over the past month I was part of the few first wave beta testers and I must tell you the site rocks. I read it daily.

Tagging works great. You can read news only about subjects you're interested in. And, you can comment on them. You can seed news items from other sites. You can also have the possibility to write your own news items and maintain your column. In the future Google Adsense incomes will be shared with the authors.

I only have 15 invites and I'm happy to give them out to the creativebits community. If you're interested please comment below. Please only ask for an invite if you're serious about it, because newsvine members are somewhat responsible for the behaviour of the people they invite. No spamming, misbehaving, etc.

Sounds really neat, unfortunately I wouldn't know if I'd want to use it unless I could give it a try. I can wait until public registration opens, hopefully it won't be eternally (like a certain "g" site, even if it may be easier to get invites for it these days).

http://gallachoir.newsvine.com - thought it's still empty at the moment. I'm still getting a feel for things over there. It looks good though. Hopefully they introduce threaded comments soon. Will be painful as most people come in and the comments really start to flow.
