Ok, *lame thread alert* post a picture of your work station...
plugz (1222 points) | Tue, 2007-09-25 20:17Mine's surprisingly tidy at the moment, I just had to rewire it all when I got a new surround sound system plumbed in to take advantage of the HDMI inputs on the screen.
So...
What does your space look like?

*edit*

Is that really yours? o_O
If so, you mentioned in your comments that you aren't a graphic designer. . .

That's not my rig.
You had me impressed there for a minute. But oh wait. I'm impressed anyway. See? Stuff doesn't always matter the most.

How pwned am I?

That reminds me of the lumberjack song...
That's "I sleep all night and I work all day."
Which is also accurate, technically-speaking. ;)

How accurate is the part about "put on women's clothing and hang around in bars"?
I'll never tell. :)

*snigger*
If it's any consolation I have a pair of jewelled nipple tassels on my shelf that I got as a "joke" birthday present.
I don't wear them to bars however.
now i REALLY miss my place in Montreal. I'll post pics tonight of my home office. The house is under renovations currently.
nice place!

Ok... About 20 mikes west of Nashville, out in the boonies. Plenty of land, plenty of clean air and lots of privacy. Can't beat it if you can tolerate the hillbillies.

Same situation out here in the Virginia boonies. That "Deliverance" tune floats through my head pretty frequently, but I wouldn't give it up for anything.

The chances of me building a place in London are slim to none.
I'm currently looking at buying a 30% share in a 1 bedroom new build apartment just to get on the property ladder and even that is going to cost upwards of £80k ($160,000 USD)
250,000 in las vegas got me a repo home in need of MAJOR renovations.

invent the suicide booth from Futurama.
:op
Reminds me of the houses on the cable tv show "Flip This House" (or "Flip That House," or whatever). Looks like a lot of work but tremendous potential. Looks a lot bigger inside than you'd think. Love the pool! What are your plans?

I lived there from the age of 9 thru 21, so I graduated from high school there. My parents live in Green Valley now (Anthem Sun City).
I hated Vegas. Couldn't wait to get out. Do you like it?

i work in henderson, near galleria mall.
Live in spring valley though, Tropicana and Rainbow.
it's good for my wife and i, she's a dancer in Legends at the Imperial Palace and teaches dance in Summerlin, i work for an architectural firm. Can't complain since construction here is still booming.
I say i love it, and i do, but it's still no Montreal. I miss home, can't take that away from me (don't think you can take away "home" from anyone really). It's got it's good and bads, but it's doing good for both of us right now. I will say however that there's no way my child will go to school here, the education system SUCKS and the school are CRAMMED with too many kids and too many underqualified fresh out of school teachers.
so all in all, as is, life is good! :D

Unfortunately, I had to deal with the Clark County School District. But back then (70s-80s) it wasn't nearly as crowded as it is now. I think 300,000 population back then. God, times have changed!
We moved there from Connecticut so I never got over that transition. Now I live in Colorado—been here for 17 years.
My brother-in-law lives there and he is also in construction, so I know that that's where the money/work is right now.
Good luck to you both!

hand made, not single core. a friend of mine makes them for a living and i've even had a hand in helping him make some. I have 2 at home. 1 is single core, the other is a built-up one like the majority of the ones he makes.
his site is www.bourema.com , he's based in Montreal but travels alot to learn new techniques and to go to shows to sell the ones he makes.
EDIT:
yes, i know, his site hasn't been updated in FOREVER... thankfully, that hasn't been my job, though i've been hounding him to do it and that he should let me do it, he just hasn't gotten around to it. then again, he might be in africa again for all i know right now.
