OpenOSX™ WinTel 2.0
Ivan | Sat, 2006-01-21 09:08WinTel product built for the new Intel based Macs runs Windows(R) within Mac OS X offering performance we have always dreamed of: nearly native.
Looks interesting... Anyone tried it?

This sounds all good on paper, and infact I even considered buying it. I have no Intel Mac, but surely the performance must be pretty good even on a PPC?
Luckily, their website also states: "The performance is very similar to VirtualPC. We do not recommend using WinTel for CPU intensive applications."
Guess I just saved myself $25. All I got is a 1GHz G4 PB, and VPC with WinXP runs like maple syrup on a cold winters day.
Can this really change to "nearly native" speed, simply by adding an additional GHz, and a recompile for the Intel? Again, sounds good on paper - but can it really be true?
with a name like OpenOSX...doesn't that imply 'open source'...shouldn't it be free with a name like that?
