Personalize your blocks
Ivan | Tue, 2005-04-26 11:46Blocks are the little boxes in the sidebar. They give you different kind of information about what's going on at cb. Now you have the option to choose which ones you want to show or hide. There are 12 now and we will add more in the future. Go to my account/edit/block configuration to set up your preference.
There are other new features in the pipeline as well, such as setting the preferred display order of comments. Another idea would be to set-up a library where we could collect all the resources, such as books, links, etc. that a graphic designer might use for his work, so when you need to learn about a certain subject, you would have all the resources in one place.
Drop a comment if you have an idea for other developements.

You've got that suggestion I made already. The library. I think it's much needed.
On the low, are we being a bit one gender minded today Ivan? Hehe - "for his work", whatever happened to female designers? Oh, yeah they suck at design I know. ;)
How about an option for reviewing those resources?
It will work a bit like Wiki, except that only members can add items. Does that sound good?
i like it a lot. bonus points for ivan!
Thanks Ivan!

The "blog categories"-block isn't showing up here, despite the fact that i turned it on in my personal preferences.. why?
Some blocks only show up only on certain pages or categories of pages. For example the blog categories will only show on the home (blog) page. Check it should be there.
Got it. Thanks :D
Ivan, how about when you click on a topic with new posts, it takes you right to the first new entry? At the moment, I'm finding it takes you to the first entry, and then you have navigate yourself to the first new entry.
You can click on the "x new" in the recent posts. I don't think the same will work in the blocks.
