Sorry for the downtime
Ivan | Tue, 2005-11-15 13:38Recently our traffic went through the roof and the shared hosting server couldn't take the load. Apparently, the RSS feeds were creating a lot of work for the CPU. The server crashed and some files on cb got damaged. It was not the bandwidth that created the problem, it was the shortage of computing resources. Few days ago cb went down.
To prevent this from happening again and not to disturb other sites on shared servers creativebits moves to a dedicated server. Your kind donations are making this possible. We now have funds for several month and the google ads will pay for the further costs. Special thanks to colo, msalsberry, carlocarino, pete, hert, rgermick, paintrea, j.rankin, xxjimmy, layne, mijlee, poveda, jammo and afterglow.
Let me know if you find anything broken and sorry for not being able to manage the grows of traffic in time.

I have no idea who you're using to host your website, but I've had excellent experience with high-volume traffic, reliability, and super cheap bandwidth with Pair. I've used them for many years, and you can get an account that comes with 40GB/mo transfer rate starting at under $20/mo, and 100GB/mo for $30.

A big sigh of relief:
"Aaahhh!!!"
Glad to see you up and running.
wms out.
At least the downtime might relieve the traffic strain for a little while.
I guess we could always do without the RSS feed if needs be?
