not so inspiring... iPhone OS do it basically now and people are commenting about it will replace Mac OS X...
Ronaldo! xD
Interesting - but I'm left thinking there's a reason the current desktop UI has lasted so long for a very good reason. It's simple, it makes sense, and it works.

On one hand, yes, on the other the technology and other things never reach the core mass market costumer pricing.
Now, it has reach that point and we will see amazing changes in our UI.
It is, it does, and you're dead on, Jim. But the lifespan of the current paradigm is a little long in the tooth.
We're due for a paradigm shift, don't you think?

Change is inevitable.

I think only 3D technology will bring us a really new dimension.

will dramatically change the way we use this gadgets.

The Mac Laptop trackpads do a reasonable job of this at the moment. I tried the new Mighty Mouse the other day and it's pretty cool as well. Plus there's always Apple Tab, or within applications Apple ` (or ctrl ` within Photoshop).
I'll stick with that and a Wacom thanks :o)
Windows 7 already has all this and more!

Excellent video - thanks for sharing, Ivan.
Initially, I was quite impressed with the thinking validating multi-touch as the next means of interfacing with text (away from a physical keyboard), but as the video continued it seemed to me the line of thinking became more clouded by current UI constraints, found in both Windows and Mac OS X - content real estate vs. user interface real estate.
From my vantage point, it seems the iPhone OS is the best UI around as interface elements designed to communicate with the software are minimized, while content space is maximized. If memory serves, Tufte is an advocate of this sort of thinking.
I loved how this video started, but it seemed to lose its way as it progressed.
Just my 2 cents.

It's a ten-finger solution, which I think eliminates some people...
I think think what OSX does already is nicer than this, and it still works with tabs. You would never have all those website up in separate working windows, you'd have tabs, which cleans it more than this system does. And now, most our working applications have adapted the tab system, which is better, obviously, than multiple file windows. So, I saw this, and thought it was sort of stupid. I can't draw with my fingers like a can with a pen for a standard Wacom tablet, and have no problem searching the net with a mouse or touch pad. We'll see if they can advance this enough to make it worthwhile, but as of right now it's not so inspiring.
