Kelacious (14 pencils) | Sat, 2007-10-20 02:29This is a logo im working on for a small photography company who specialize in family portraits. They wanted to have something with a camera shutter combined with sunlight. They also requested more earth tones and muted colors. Im struggling with this idea of sun rays combined with the shutter, and would appreciate any advice.

I like the second one. Good work!
I think you have done a great job on all three, but I have to say that no. 1 and 2 are the ones that caught my eye. Especially the first one. I think you did a great job with the shutter and the sun rays! However, I think you should work more with the kerning, especially in the word Photography.

thanks for the comment. Do you have any suggestions on the colors for the logo?
Um, sunflower yellow? :)
I'd say something in an orange-yellow range, and closer to 100%. The current color looks tan and muted; a not particularly strong color.

I wonder why a photography studio would want to have muted colors? Isn't sunlight vibrant and bright??
Good job sticking to the creative brief on this one and for the varied examples. I like #2 also.

I also like 2 the best. In #1 the ornaments take away from the logo and #3 Scriptina isn't legible enough a font (and feels too decorative for this). Though your typeface for 1 and 2 is quite nice. I like how you handled the sunrays/shutter concept.
Good work.

i like number one and number two. number one would be my first choice if you used the typeface that you used in number two.
