Page numbering Indesign CS3
bianca (16 pencils) | Mon, 2010-10-04 11:19Hi All
I have designed a book in Indesign. The book consists of 77 pages. Indesign automatically numbers page number 1 as pg.1, page 2 as 2, etc.
Now my question: I would like the first four pages to be completely blanco, thus I would like page number 5 to be treated as page number 1 by Indesign. So in actual fact I need the first four pages to remain as a part of the document but I need indesign to ignore them and only start auto page numbering at page 5.
I have explored the Number & Section Options and I have tried the 'start section at page 5'. But then page 6 and 7 is still numbered as page 10 and 11 - exactly what I don't want.
Does anybody have some advice/tips for me. It will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
In the pages panel see that page 5 is selected by double clicking on it.
Then go to the Number & sections options and choose start page at and type the number 1.
This means that page 5 of your document will be numbered as page one.
No get rid of the page numbers on page 1 to 4.
Thank you for the tip - I will try it out.
