Pantone Update
Flant (13 points) | Mon, 2006-04-03 02:19If you have anyone who does a lot of print work and their printer is CTP (Direct to Plate) they need to update their "PANTONE Solid to Process" swatch kit to the NEW "PANTONE color bridge" kit.
http://www.pantone.com/products/products.asp?idArea=1&showNav=22
Also go on to Pantone and get yourself the CS2 color bridge updater (you need to login)
The breakdown of each Spot color is now different to reflect updates in current CTP technology. For example PANTONE 293C is quite a bit different.
Solid to Process Coated (old)
C=100
M=57
Y=0
K=2
Color Bridge Coated (new)
C=100
M=68
Y=0
K=2
That's almost a 10% difference in Magenta and would result in very purple blues. It's up to you how you want to deal with this issue so don't take this as advice, you just need to be aware.
Any comments on this issue?

Thank you flant. Good to know!
