Part 2: Eco-Friendly Sportswear Brand
darius (15 pencils) | Wed, 2007-10-31 20:12Hi guys,
This is a follow-up to my previous critique thread here:
http://creativebits.org/eco-friendly_sportswear_brand
So this is the final logo design that came to be so it's not exactly a critique thread, but I promised to post up the final look.
The main concern for this brand was coming up with a name. In my previous thread, I mentioned the frustration from the higher ups from coming up with a name. It all came down to 3 name choices: evolve, act and seed.
Evolve just seemed to work better than the other 2 in many respects.
So here are some images of the logo, a garment hangtag, examples of possible stationary (if necessary), and a garment label.
As far as the logo is concerned, I felt that I really wanted to incorporate the leaf from previous designs into evolve so I think it came out pretty successfully (I hope, anyway).
If you're thinking that it looks a lot like an "@" symbol, well, you're probably right as that was the base I used to create the logo.
Overal I'm pretty happy the way it turned out, and I hope you guys like it too.
thanks,
Darius

I actually am liking this logo a lot more than the previous versions. :) The thickness around the leaf looks awkward to me, though. The other thing is that the bend under the leaf doesn't look to smoothly transition into the circle-like shape.
Yes, the @ symbol came to my mind immediately, and it's a bit confusing because it's an "e" not an "a". I still like it, though.

I like the new name and design much better. You do great work and I can see the connection with the @ symbol, but in some ways it reminds me of a coiled snake.
The symbol is awesome, I agree with seraphim though the lines of the leaf look a little think in comparison to the font, they take too much attention. I love w¡how it works in black. I don't know if the target audience are males or females but the green version looks very girly. Other that that I LOVE the concept behind the logo, perfect match. Congrats!!!
