PDF's

Hi
I don't have a copy of Acrobat Professional nor Distiller. Can I still save Adobe PDF's through Illustrator CS2 and Indesign CS2 for Final Artwork? I remember doing it once and was told that I HAD to use Distiller to supply PDF's.
Also do I need to send link files with the PDF file as well?
thanks
You can save as pdf
PDF is available from your 'save as' menu from both programs. By virtue of what a pdf is, all images are embedded into the pdf file unless you specify otherwise. Best bet is to save as PDF/X-1a.

Cool. Thanks
I had an issue once with saving a PDF from Illustrator ( I think I used the setting Press ready) and the printer said that the my link file was missing. Would that be corrected if I had saved as a PDF/X-1a or would I still have to embed the image?
Your best bet is to first
Your best bet is to first outline your fonts (save the original file with the fonts intact).
Then you can save as and don't use Press, try to use PDF/X-1a or just embed your images directly in your document and either save an eps or pdf.
