I am looking for and comments to make this card stronger. This is a card to promote myself to perspective employers and as such it uses my name and not a company name. The rest of my materials will follow this theme when I am satisfied with this design.

the colors don't practicauly read "graphic designer" the layout is nice, maybe make "graphic designer" smaller and align it just under the word "mathews" I'd also get rid of the circles in breaking up your phone number, it's too bulky and the regular format (111) 111-1111 works better
Thanks for the comments they were helpful. I am working on a new layout. The reason for the moon is that my initials are PM and I am working to make that more clear in the layout. Regarding the colors I am moving back to B/W then adding colors when I am happy with the layout.
The idea of PM is a cool one, but you need to find another way to show it. I don't think you need all the patches on the moon, those would be unnecessary details.

What's with the clip art trying to show nighttime? Leave it as just your name, or if you wish to play up the PM idea, then you need to doodle some more...ie. hands of a clock to denote a late hour, stars dotting the eyes...whatever...needs more work.

Paul, I don't believe I' e ever been asked to reach farther for a connection between someone's name and the design that presents it in a business card layout. I would never in a million years have associated your initials with the moon -- because I would never have given your initials any consideration at all. Why would I? All I get fron this is that you seem to think brown and tan equals night. Maybe, if your only frame of reference is a pint of Guinness, but really, Paul, if you want to play with the moon and night theme, I'm afraid you're going to have to get a little blue. agree with the comments about the colour, take a look at some pictures of a batman comic (something by frank miller will do) and see what pallet is used, There is a massive understanding of what colours work well at night as most of the story is set in the dark. think this will help push you in the right direction.

i'll agree with most of the comments here. you have an interesting concept about associating your initials with evening, but you haven't executed it well at all. nobody would get the relationship at all if you didn't tell us.
while i'll agree that the bullets in the phone numbers should go, i don't think you have to go completely traditional with parens. i think you can just use periods, which is commonly used and, i think more elegant than parens. 505.555.1212.
