Personal Identity Logo

Personal Identity Logo

This is for my photoshop class. We are to make a personal identity piece for ourselves.

seeing how everyone on here, like leaky penny or w.e his name is lieks to be a dick and write horrible stuff i feel obligated to do the same.
this looks horrible.
its boring.
bla bla bla.

just kidding.
i think the overall look of this "persdonal identity piece" is good.
since i suck at graphics i have no suggestions at this time.

Unless you're Tim Burton - this idea doesn't work. Hand drawn lettering should only be done by a professional. Never stack type ("designs"). Lose the "s" on designS.

IOW - reboot. Start from scratch with an IDEA. Work from there.

Well Tim, if that's the case... then you spelled your name wrong too.

with all the cool textures, filters and enhancements photoshop allows you to use it is very VERY plain and simple.
Text dropping down sucks and should not be used,
i think you should grab a pencil and SKETCH something then use photoshop to tidy it up (THANK YOU LEAKY)

16 billion colours and you choose the one i cant create !??!

Photoshop is not the application to use for logo design (a.k.a. "personal identity"). You use a vector app like Illustrator for that. If the instructor of your Photoshop class is having you use PS to design a logo, s/he either doesn't know much about computer-based design, or they just want you to get the hang of using some of Photoshop's less familiar tools.

I am in the same class. The purpose of our assignment is to explore photoshop's vector capabilities for educational purposes. It's just for the sake of learning that they are there. And though I would agree that this is not the primary app for vector illustrations and logos, it is handy to learn.

Wow, you guys are in the same class? Well, I guess you can really tell who's going to be a designer and who's going to move on to work in a grocery store.

What you posted up cbirnell was very good actually, try reposting it at a larger scale so we can really give it a proper look see.

Who the hell is teaching your class...Balmer? As Mara pointed out, Illustrator is THE program for vector logos. Photoshop is for...well...PHOTO work.

This logo is really not working at all. You need to sit down and sketch sketch sketch until landing upon a solution. Treat yourself as a client. What do you wish to say with this mark; who is your target audience; etc.

Good luck.

Paddle faster, I hear banjos.
