Personal logo

Personal logo

Here is a attempt at my personal logo that i have been playing around with the past few days. These logos are based on my full name(shiwon allen davis). I have sketched out a few ideas in my sketchbook before working on the computer first.

I'm pretty much brainstorming ideas and i came across these 3 so far. Sorry for the lack of quality.

Sorry guys i may have posted this wrong. Heres the information that your looking for.

1. Logo created using my initials of my first, middle, and last name. The “S” is presented horizontally.

2. Here are the three letters “s-a-d”
joining together forming a logo. Also can be communicated as “S-d”

“S”(top left),lowercase “a”(bottom) joining with the “d”

3. I thought I would just have fun with this one, similar to the arrangements in logo 1.

With only the “a” sitting under the s, joining the d or also can be read as “s-d”

Regarding your first drafts:

Top one: looks like a combo of a tilde and the word ad; or the letters just can't take the Sad facts any more and the S has toppled over in despair.

Middle and bottom ones: your sketches are well done (actually, as is the top one); however, your computer execution of them is not coming off quite right.

Overall? I'd stay away from the acronym of your name--your initials emit a negative connotation. Why not play with your entire name as the logo or even just one component--Shiwon is a pretty cool and unique name and I think you could have a lot of fun working up a logo with just that.

rearranging the initials of your name does not a logo make. Search for 'What is a logo' in the Search field on this site for a great discussion on what a logo is and should be. I don't think what you're showing here really hits the mark.

I remember your old logo's with the sad face and what not. This is a HUGE step forward. though i'm not a fan of using initials, there is some strong potential in these. I really like the sketch of the second one, i just don't get what the thing on the right is, it looks NOTHING like the sketch on the left.

I really think the second(middle) sketch is the strongest thing you have shown. Nothing is rotated or odd, it's just overlapped to make something somewhat interesting.

again, nice improvement. keep us posted.

Thanks guys for critiquing. ill post new work in the next few days straying away from my initials. Disregard the images on the right, it was for viewers who couldn't make out how the letters came (join) together.

I will continue with more sketches using my first. Thanks again so far.

I think I may have been a little harsh in my previous critique. The shapes you did create are original, so well done there. Maybe your actual logo could use a similar shape while not being your initials per se?
